Community Guidelines

1. Keep it recipe-centric

Share recipes you have the right to publish, honest cooking activity, useful ratings, substitutions, technique notes, and respectful questions about a recipe. Do not use Weektable for unrelated promotion, political debate, dating, direct messages, or general-purpose chat.

2. Respect people and cultures

• No harassment, threats, bullying, hate, discrimination, sexual content, or targeted abuse.
• Critique the recipe or technique, not the person or culture behind it.
• Do not mock, erase, or falsely claim authority over a cuisine or cultural tradition.
• Do not share another person's private information, identity, address, or account details.

3. Protect food safety

• Do not knowingly publish dangerous instructions, false allergen claims, or fabricated nutrition facts.
• Clearly identify meaningful substitutions and avoid claiming a recipe is safe for an allergy or medical condition.
• Ratings should reflect a genuine experience with the recipe; do not coordinate or automate ratings.
• Nutrition and best-by values are estimates. Verify labels, storage, doneness, and individual medical needs yourself.

4. Publish only what you may share

Do not copy a publisher's protected instructions, photos, or other content without permission. Common ideas, ingredient combinations, and cooking methods can be expressed in your own words, but merely making small edits to someone else's recipe does not automatically give you publication rights. Credit is not a substitute for permission.

5. Audience and identity

Choose Private, Friends, or Public for activity you deliberately share. Public currently means the signed-in Weektable community. Anonymous comments are anonymous to other members, not to Weektable: the service retains the author identity for safety, deletion, and moderation. Do not attempt to identify an anonymous commenter.

6. Reports, blocks, and moderation

Use the in-app report action for unsafe, abusive, spam, privacy-invasive, or infringing content. A social block immediately hides activity and comments between the two accounts; shared-kitchen access is handled separately so blocking cannot silently destroy household data. For urgent safety or privacy concerns, email isakknox@gmail.com.

Weektable may hide, quarantine, remove, or restore content; restrict Social access; or suspend an account. We consider context, severity, repetition, safety, and rights. We keep an internal audit record of moderator actions. To appeal, reply to the moderation notice or email support with “Moderation appeal” and the relevant recipe or activity.

During the controlled launch, we aim to review ordinary reports and appeals within seven calendar days. Credible food-safety threats, harassment, privacy exposure, or imminent harm are prioritized sooner. This target is not a guarantee where a report requires additional information, but Social may be limited or paused if the queue cannot be handled safely.

7. Enforcement

The operator is the sole moderator during the controlled launch. Public community features remain subject to capacity limits or temporary shutdown if the report queue cannot be reviewed safely. Repeated or severe violations may result in immediate removal or account suspension.
